What to do When you have Paint Bubbling on Wall

When you notice paint bubbling on walls it’s a sure sign of water damage. Bubbling paint as well as rippling wallpaper, spongy walls, swollen baseboards, cracked tile, damp surfaces, and wet smells are other signs of water damage in your home. If you spot any of these, call a water restoration company right away to get the water stopped, cleaned up, and any resulting damage repaired. If there is an active leak, they will bring in a plumber to get it fixed and keep additional water from leaking. Then, they will clean up wherever water has reached and repair any damage that resulted. Remember, when you see water it’s almost never the full extent of the damage. There’s usually water where you can’t see or haven’t thought to look because water can run along walls and trim as well as drip through from ceilings and overhead spaces.

If you notice water damage in your home, address it immediately! The effects of water damage will always get worse over time, and mold can begin growing in as little as one day after water makes its way into your walls. Taking care of home water damage quickly can save you a lot of money in the long run because mold remediation can be quite costly.
